Two Simple Family St. Patrick’s Day Craft Projects

If you don’t have a lot of time to spend with your kids making complicated St. Patrick’s Day crafts but would like to do something for the holiday, don’t worry. The Web is a great source of free Saint Patrick’s Day images that can be used to create quick and easy crafts. For example, crafts made from vintage St Patricks Day cards found online are simple to make, due to the fact that vintage images are versatile and also quite effective when it comes to conveying a St. Patrick’s Day message. You can find a little something for everyone, because vintage St. Patrick’s Day images range from mischievous to sweet to Irish-loving patriotic. These pictures also usually cost nothing to download and their age makes them not eligible for copyright protection. That’s a nice bonus, because you don’t have to worry about the accidental illegal use of other people’s art. Searching the Web for “vintage Irish clip art” will also give you a large number of free Saint Patrick’s Day images from which many fun craft projects can be made.

Here are examples of two St. Patty’s Day projects nearly anyone can make by using free art found on the Internet:

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Place Cards
If you’re going to have guests over for corned beef and cabbage, you can make your table look more festive by making your own Saint Patrick’s Day table place cards. They’re a great way to make your guests feel welcome! Fortunately, these can be made quite easily using free clip art images or vintage cards. Just download the image or images you want to use and paste them into a table in your word processing program. The table should have two columns and six or eight rows, depending on how long and thin you want the cards. Place your chosen art into every other cell, leaving room to write people’s names. Then, print the page onto card stock, cut the place cards using a paper cutter or a ruler and craft knife and they’ll be ready to fold in half. Voila! That’s it. Your St. Patrick’s Day table will be that much more festive.

Handmade St. Patrick’s Day Postcards
When you’ve downloaded the St. Patrick’s Day art you’d like to use from the Web, paste it into a Word, PowerPoint or OneNote document. You can size the card using the software’s settings. Place the image on one half of the card, so it can be folded in half after it’s printed. Print the card on sturdy stock, fold it and use a little glitter glue to make it sparkle. You might also want to make your own envelopes or just buy two-for-a-dollar card and envelope sets at the dollar store and then recycle the cards into other types of decorations.

I hope you enjoy making these simple and fun Saint Patrick’s Day crafts and that you have a joyful holiday. If you want even more Saint Patrick’s Day fun, check out these Saint Patrick’s Day party invitations.
